Tian Xuejun was born in Zibo, Shandong Province in 1962.

1979-1983   Study in Department of Foreign Languages, Shandong University, with Combined bachelor degree.

1983-1985   Study in Department of Diplomacy, China Foreign Affairs University;

1985-1988   Staff member and Attache of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the State of Kuwait;

1988-1991   Attache and Third Secretary of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the People's Republic of Bangladesh;

1991-1992   Third Secretary of the Department of Personnel, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China;

1992-1998   Second Secretary, then First Secretary of the General Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China;

1998-2003   Counselor of the General Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China;

2003-2004   Secretary of the General Office, the State Council of the People's Republic of China;

2004-2007   Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Hellenic Republic;
