Huang Rongyuan Mansion

It is located at 32 Fujian Road, Kulangsu Island, and is currently a major cultural heritage site protected at the national level. Built in 1920, Huang Rongyuan Mansion has an area of over 3,000 square metres, with the main building covering 1,200 square metres. Its architectural style and garden landscape are a fusion of Chinese and western elements. Huang Rongyuan Mansion is a major example of garden mansions built by overseas Chinese on Kulangsu Island in the first half of the 20th century. It also witnessed the great contribution that overseas Chinese made to the development of Kulangsu as the Historical International Settlement. It is currently used as the Kulangsu Records Museum, which is a model for the display and utilization of overseas Chinese architecture and Kulangsu cultural relics.
