Lian Village

Lian Village: It is located in the southwest of Fu’an City, 2 kilometers away from the town. The Xiapu Line of Provincial Highway goes around the village, with convenient transportation and superior geographical location. It is an ancient village enjoying mountains and rivers. The village covers an area of 4,057 mu (the equivalent of 2,704,666 square meters), with three natural villages under its jurisdiction, namely Ziyan, Tantou and Bantou. It is the hometown of Xue Lingzhi, the “First Jinshi in Fujian”. Because Xue Lingzhi was an incorruptible official all his life, he was praised as “an honest minister”. In order to praise his honesty and integrity, Emperor Tang Suzong renamed the village where he lived “Lian Cun” (incorruptible village), which is the only village in history that the Chinese emperor gave his edicts for “incorruptible”, and the water was “Lian Xi” incorruptible stream). The existing ancient castles, roads, docks, ancestral halls, dwellings, wood carvings, stone carvings, calligraphy and paintings, as well as a large number of folk cultural relics, fully show its long-established history and rich cultural landscape. In recent years, Lian Village has been successively awarded as “Famous Chinese Historical and Cultural Village”, “Traditional Chinese Ancient Village”, “National Ecological Cultural Village”, “Clean Governance Education Base of Fujian Province”, “China Rural Tourism Model Village”, “National 3A Tourist Attractions”, and “2017 Most Beautiful Ancient Village”.
