Zhu Xi Alley

Zhu Xi Alley

It is a branch alley on Wufu Street and can date back to the Southern Tang Dynasty of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms (about 930-950) more than 1,000 years ago. When Zhu Xi first got settled in Wufuli, he often carried a bookcase, headed over to the foot of Ezi Peak just a short distance away, and solicited advice from his father-in-law and teacher Liu Mianzhi, or went to the bank of Jixi nearby to learn in Wending Study Hall from Hu Xian, son of Hu Anguo, a great sage. He had walked down the alley for tens of thousands of times. To commemorate the master of Neo-Confucianism, this alley was called Zhu Xi Alley. In December 2014, the People’s Government of Wuyishan City announced it as among the ninth batch of cultural relics protection sites.
