Zhuxi’s Mausoleum:It is also called Zhuzi Tomb, located in the Jiufeng Village, Huangkeng Town, the northwest of Jianyang District. Zhuxi passed away in Kaoting, Jianyang in March, the sixth year of Qingyuan in the Southern Song Dynasty (A.D. 1200). His wife was also buried here. The shape of tomb is just like a Chinese character “凤” (means phoenix). There is a stone tablet behind the tomb. It was set up in the 56th year during the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (A.D. 1717). The characters carved on the stone tablet were Zhuzi, famous scholar, great thinker of the Song Dynasty and his wife, Ms Liu. The tomb was the second batch of sites to be listed as provincial-level cultural relic protection sites issued by people’s government of Fujian Province in Oct, 1985, and it was listed as key cultural relics under national protection on May 25, 2006. It is the holy land where many visitors, experts, scholars and Zhuxi’s descendants come here to show the respects to Zhuxi.
