Tea Cave

Tea cave is a valley-esque cave surrounded by 7 mountain peaks and is home to the lush and fragrance of tea, so it also earns the name as the quiet jasper cave sky. It lies at the foot of the north side of Yinping Peak in Mount Wuyi Scenic Area. It was built by Dong Maoxun, a scholar of Chong’an, in the 53rd year of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (1714), as a place for studying and self-cultivation. In the winter of the 54th year of Emperor Kangxi, Li Guangdi (1642-1718), philosopher and scholar of Academy of Literature, compiled Record of Liuyun Bookstore, on his tour there. In January 2016, the People’s Government of Wuyishan City announced it as among the 10th batch of cultural relics protection sites.
