Fulinbao

Located in Shangyang of Guokeng Village, Qingshui She Township, Yong’an City, Fujian Province, the Fulinbao was built by Lin Zhongyi, the ancestor of the Lin family, in the fifth year of Emperor Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty (1740), which took 12 years to be completed, having a history of more than 270 years.

Sitting on the north and facing the south, the Fulinbao’s exquisite craftsmanship is one of the best in Fujian Tulous (Earth buildings), which embodies the wisdom of the local people and the brilliant achievements of ancient Tulou construction.

It is a gem of Chinese folk architecture and a testimony to the traditional culture of the region where the Han people live. The Fulinbao has unique style, grand scale, exquisite structure and craftsmanship and complete functions. Its interior is carved with beams and painted buildings, rich in connotation, and extremely gorgeous. The Fulinbao was listed as one of the provincial cultural relic protection sites in 2013.
