Nansheng Kilt Site refers to the kilns that produced blue-and-white, five-color, plain tricolor, colored-glaze porcelain and so on in Pinghe County during the Ming and Qing dynasties. It was an important export porcelain production base and also an important site of “Maritime Silk Road” for ceramics trade in Zhangzhou, which is identified as the sixth group of major cultural heritage sites protected at the national level and the first group of declared world heritage sites "Maritime Silk Road - Chinese Historical Sites".

Nansheng Kilt Site has an important position in the history of Chinese porcelain, and its technology represents the highest level of the early "Zhangzhou porcelain". Its products have unique characteristics of blue-and-white porcelain, painted porcelain, and plain tricolor porcelain, showing the charm of both eastern and western culture. They were sold in large quantities overseas in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, and was called "Shantou ware," "wu xu shou," "wu xu chi hui," "wu zhou chi hui," and "jiao zhi xiang he," playing a role in promoting the civilization of Europe and even the world.
